Red Kite Sleeptight Travel Cot Review

Mothercare bassinette travel cot
Overall 4/5
Spacious, Safe, User-friendly

We were fortunate for this to be given to us as a gift by a parent who knew it would come into it’s own, and it has done just that on many an occasion. Gift on not, this product is well worth adding to your arsenal.

Durability & Safety 5/5

The Red Kite Travel cot is built like a tank in that it will not be pulled apart by junior and can be manhandled around without an additional due care and attention. Our’s has been on numerous holidays with us and also works perfectly well for those nights at grandma’s to provide a familiar environment of slumber for junior to settle into. This travel cot is large enough for a developing baby to se them well into there 18th month with enough space for them to be comfortable for a good and refreshing nights sleep.

In addition to the sleep-based benefits, it doubles up as a playpen. When your baby begins to crawl around you’ll soon become very aware that while attending to him, you’re daily routine can be overwhelming and you simply cannot do as much as you’d hoped. Pop junior in this for a wee while with some favourite books and toys and they should be adequately entertained while you break the back of your chore backlog. Obviously the more they develop the less likely they are to play happily in one place. With crawling and walking comes new adventures which cannot be contained by anything.

Practicality 4/5

This product is very good on the practicality side too. Really easy to assemble, and packs down to a decent sized sports bag. Every additional part of it is self-contained in this one bag; such as the cover, a tray that goes across the top, the mat upon which junior will sleep. Not only that, but it’s pretty easy to set up and take down and in just a few simple steps you will have it up and locked in place ready for junior.

Value for money

Normally priced at £49.99 the Red Kite Travel Cot is currently on sale for just £34, a veritable steal. As mentioned it’s really easy to assemble and pack away. A ‘must have’ for your travelling requirements.

Baby satisfaction 4/5

We found that junior took to this travel cot reasonably well while on a holiday break, so we had a good week to test it out. The first two nights took a little effort to introduce a new sleeping environment as you would expect, but it soon became a very welcome temporary accommodation. There was even actual bona fide enjoyment upon pressing our faces to the mesh along the side. I guess we looked more amusing than usual…
