Baby Swimming Checklist

Baby underwater

Firstly, it’s great that you have decided to take Junior swimming. It’ll be a lot of fun and a great experience, but expect some kicking and screaming to begin with. It’s occasionally a rush to get everything ready for the event, and on many occasions I have been caught out, so below, is a checklist to make sure you have all you need.

  • Swimming nappies (you won’t get in the pool without one)
  • Baby swimming costume (depending on the heat of the pool you may need a sun suit)
  • Your swimming costume
  • Towels for you & baby (preferably with a hood for baby)
  • Padlock (if you’re pool doesn’t supply them)
  • Baby bath / shampoo (if you intend to use the shower facilities)
  • Toy distractions
  • Water (they will be very thirsty after swimming)
  • Snacks or milk depending on age
  • Changing mat
  • Baby cream
  • Barrier cream
  • Baby wipes
  • Fresh nappies
  • Baby clothes

Have fun,

Big Daddy
